Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) is committed to expanding its steel-making capacity at Angul, Odisha, in alignment with India’s vision of reaching a steel production capacity of 300 million tons per annum by 2030. To spearhead this ambitious project, JSPL has established Jindal Steel Odisha Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary based in Bhubaneswar. This expansion will scale up our steel-making operations from the current 6 MTPA to over 25 MTPA at Angul making it the largest single location Integrated Steel Making facility).

Our Expansion Project

Jindal Steel Odisha Ltd. has already made significant strides in its expansion efforts:

  • Pellet Making Facility: Commissioned to enhance raw material processing
  • Hot Strip Mill (HSM) Plant: Operational to produce high-quality hot rolled strips.

Future Projects:

  • Blast Furnace: Under implementation to increase iron production.
  • Basic Oxygen Furnace: Planned for efficient steel refining.
  • Cold Rolling Mill: To produce cold-rolled steel products.

Our initiatives include:

  • Local Coal Utilization: Efficient use of local coal resources for steel making.
  • Carbon Capture: Technologies to capture and utilize carbon emissions.
  • Heat Recovery Boilers: Systems to recover and reuse heat in operations.
  • By-product Gas Utilization: Converting by-product gases for steam and power generation.

Scope-3 Emission Reduction:

  • Pipe Conveyors: Transporting coal through pipe conveyors.
  • Iron Ore Slurry Pipeline: A 200+ km pipeline for transporting iron ore.
